RIDES for EVERYONE and EVERY ABILITY

CycleOut members organise rides throughout the year.  We do Group Rides, Sundays in Richmond Park Rides, Mid-week Social Rides as well as Sportives and Charity Rides.

All our rides are organised by volunteer riders and a description is listed on our Spond account.  For the most part, we do road cycling so a road bike or hybrid works best.  Having said that we do some off-road rides which may better suit a gravel or mountain bike.

These rides are either half-day, one-day or weekend rides held throughout the year.   Some are mid-week, and most are on a Saturday or Sunday.

They are categorised at Levels 2 to 5 / Easy to Hard.  On our Spond account you will see the level of the ride, location, start time, route map, ride leader and a general description of what to expect.

These rides are great for new members to get to meet people and see if they like the club.  It is a fun ride socialising in Richmond Park.  Starts at 10:30 am until 12:30 pm on the first and third Sundays of the month.  Usually, about 10 to 15 members turn up to take 2 laps and have coffee afterwards.

Ride Levels

All rides are classified as Level 2 to 5 according to their difficulty and suitability for different types of riders.

The main parameters are the length of the ride, the amount of climbing involved, and the average speed at which the riders will be travelling.  We would always recommend speaking to an experienced member before signing up to a ride.  Their details can be seen on our Spond account.

All rides are planned and led by an experienced member of the club.  This means you may turn up and follow the leader.

However, if you do wish to navigate yourself, as a general rule, the routes are created and available through the club's RideWithGPS account.

One of the most important aspects of all rides is the safety of the riders and members of the public.  Routes are planned to be on as many B roads as possible, but at times we must travel on busy A roads and it is therefore critical that riders act in a safe and sensible manner.

You MUST wear a helmet at all times, and please consider wearing brighter clothing to help other road users see you.  At night always use front and rear lights.

Please read the Safety Guidelines
